Proof of Concept

Often, you may simply want to know if our technologies will give you data relevant to the research you are doing with your samples. To assist you, we offer proof of concept studies, which allow us to generate data before developing a workflow for your lab. We work with you to define a study that will give you the data you need to take the next step in your research.

Our report on a proof of concept engagement will:

• Give you a clear understanding of the workflow that will best meet your needs
• Enable you to make better decisions in workflow design
• Manage your execution risk by ensuring the workflow will solve your challenges

Technology Development

We have a deep understanding of how to apply our capabilities to solve unique automation problems. We develop and extend Freeslate platforms and workflows for specialized needs, working with you to carefully define the solution that best meets your requirements.

Typically this will be done in 2 phases. First, we will develop a prototype of the technology and perform a feasibility study to ensure the solution properly addresses your R&D challenges. Once you are satisfied that the prototype is the right solution for your research needs, we will refine the prototype into a product that we can deliver to your labs.

Our broad expertise allows us to approach any technology problem with a unique perspective that can extend the value of your Freeslate system.

Managed Research Services

For Life Science customers, we offer Managed Research Services. Through our contract research services, we can deliver scientific resources—products and people—for particular applications. Outsourcing some of your lab work can accelerate your R&D efforts, and if you’re already using our LEA software suite, the data we generate on your behalf is immediately incorporated into your database.

One powerful example of contract research services is in drug development, an area in which competing priorities can stretch the bandwidth of even the biggest labs. We can perform the work using the same workflows you are using in-house, and consolidate the data into your database.

Some examples of Freeslate contract research services:

• Crystal Form Screening (Salt Selection and Polymorph): This workflow combines hardware and informatics to aggregate Birefringence, Raman, X-Ray Powder Diffraction, and Liquid Chromatography results for viewing, analyzing, and reporting up to 384 crystallization experiments at a time, accelerating the decision-making process about which conditions to scale up for complete characterization.
• Solubility: This workflow guides the lab process from sample creation to sample processing and work-up, to analysis. This results in aggregated data showing solubility profiles and enables detailed chromatogram analysis and overlays. The workflow can be used to profile compounds versus media composition and temperature for process development labs and to profile solubility versus pH or viscous media for biopharmaceutical development labs.
• Reaction Optimization: Often, optimization of a reaction step can make a tremendous difference in your manufacturing yield. We offer a workflow that will allow you to look at a number of reaction conditions to optimize a key reaction step.
