Parallel Micro-Autoclaves for Accelerating Discovery

Our Screening Pressure Reactor (SPR) is a parallel batch reactor for rapid catalyst and process optimization. This reactor focuses on high throughput screening of catalysts and reaction conditions, including high temperature and high pressure, and operation under inert gas. This allows you to explore much broader phase space and screen many additional catalysts, under more conditions with less material. It provides a more thorough understanding of your process before you need to scale-up, and it allows you to achieve a higher probability of success.

The reactor features parallel micro-autoclaves isolated by a unique pinhole array with a high-temperature-capable gasket, allowing individual reactors to have feed stocks and catalysts of different physical properties without cross contamination. The SPR provides automated pressure, temperature, and stir rate control capabilities with easy programming of desired conditions and ramp rates. The SPR software continuously monitors these parameters over time, with the profiles stored in a database for easy reference of actual hardware performance.

Prepare: Rapidly Load and Seal Reactors

  • High-pressure seal: Uses only a single, high-pressure seal regardless of the number of individual micro-autoclaves chosen, resulting in high hardware robustness, minimal troubleshooting, and optimized reactor turnaround.
  • Optional robotic reactor loading: Dispense catalysts, reagents, solvents, and feed stocks via integrated robotic hardware. Unit can be placed in a glove box for dispensing and sealing in an inert atmosphere.

Process: Automated Reactor Operation and Storage of Process Data

  • Individual reactor isolation: Parallel micro-autoclaves are isolated by unique cover plates in several geometries, allowing for individual reactors to contain solvents and catalysts of different physical properties without cross contamination.
  • Process condition control: Automated pressure, temperature and stir rate control, with easy programming of the desired conditions and ramp rates.
  • Reaction monitoring: Software continuously monitors the temperature, pressure, and stir rate of the reactor over time, with the profiles stored in a database for reference of actual hardware performance.

Test: Integrated Reaction Product Analyses for Comprehensive Data Comparisons

  • Off-line liquid product analyses: Integrate established auto-sampler based analytics, including chromatographic (GC, HPLC, UPLC, SFC) and spectroscopic (FTIR, UV-Vis, fluorescence, MS) techniques to the SPR using LEA software.
  • Data query and visualization software: Query results by parameters such as chemical composition, process condition, residence time, etc., for rapid viewing of only relevant data over large experimental breadth across a campaign.
