We recognized the need for high throughput solutions in small molecule drug development a number of years ago and introduced our first solution in 2001.

Since then we have developed a number of tools and capabilities for addressing the needs of scientists at every stage of the drug development process.

Preformulation Workflows


Solubility

Our Solubility workflow evaluates solubility as a function of excipients (PEGs, Tweens, solubilizers, glycerol, etc.), buffers (i.e., pH), and simulated gastrointestinal fluids, and as a function of various process solvents (aqueous and organic) and temperatures.

Polymorph and Salt Selection screening

Our high throughput Polymorph and Salt Selection workflow allows you to much more deeply understand a number of parameters including screening of:

  • Freeacid, freebase, salt or API versus solvent composition and crystallization method (slurry, evaporation, cooling, precipitation).
  • Crystallization versus counterion, solvent, and crystallization method.
  • Crystallization versus neutral organic guest, solvent and crystallization method.

Forced Degradation

Our Forced Degradation workflow allows for the analysis of potential degradation products from candidate drugs for analytical method development and early stability assessment.

Organic Transformation and Process Optimizations Workflows


Organic Transformation

Our Organic Transformation workflow allows you to explore a number of reaction conditions to optimize organic synthesis including the screening of cycloadditions, chiral salt resolutions, and metal scavengers.

Process Optimization

Our Process Optimization workflow allows you to optimize a variety of chemistry reactions including:

  • Screening organic solvents (neat and mixed systems).
  • Trituration studies (chiral and achiral purifications).
  • Cross-coupling (C-C, C-N, C-O, C-S) reactions (Buchwald-Hartwig Aminations, Suzuki-Miyaura, Negishi, Kumada, Heck, Ullmann).
  • Enantioselective reductions (hydrogenation and transfer hydrogenation).
  • Heterogeneous hydrogenation, carbonylation, and hydroformylation, among others.

Analytical Sample Prep

The versatility of our automation systems is best demonstrated from the breadth of our offerings. Our systems can perform simple sample prep for analytical tests or perform complex sample preparation for more challenging analytical tests depending on your needs.

Small Molecule Managed Services

As part of our commitment to meeting the needs of researchers in drug discovery, we offer managed services for small molecule workflows. This has resulted in a "hardening" of our technologies, making them the best on the market for high throughput small molecule drug development applications. Furthermore, it allows our customers to manage their capacity in a way that no other company can offer.

You can bring workflows into your company to develop expertise and address urgent project needs. At the same time, you can outsource less pressing projects to Freeslate where your samples will be run on the same workflows you have adopted in your labs. For customers currently running LEA in the labs, the data generated through us is uploaded into a centralized database through our LEA software, allowing for access to the data by anyone in your organization.
